At Kaptein BV we pack a wide variety of cheese in many different ways; from whole to grated dried cheese and from cheese slices for retailers to catering packs of over 200 slices. It goes without saying that we can handle a broad range of cheese type and maturity. Own brands
We have seven own brands: Alkmaars Roem, Old Alkmaar, Alkmaars Bewust, Alkmaars Speciaal, World of Cheese, Cheese Holland and Parmerender.
Alkmaars Roem is a beautiful Gouda cheese available from young to matured varieties; in whole cheeses and in cut pieces; in retail and wholesale packs; and in portioned packaging.
Old Alkmaar is a very mature cheese. It is made according to a traditional recipe in special ripening rooms on wooden boards. This is a naturally matured cheese, made just as traditional Dutch cheese always has been. Old Alkmaar is available in three varieties: matured to 10 months, 15 months and 36 months. It is also available in a wide range of packaging. Alkmaars Bewust Alkmaars Bewust contains a selection of special cheeses which are suitable for people with a restricted diet. The range includes reduced sodium 40+, reduced sodium with cumin 40+, low fat 20+ and low fat with cumin 20+.
Alkmaars Speciaal Alkmaars Speciaal is an excellent Gouda cheese produced in a range of surprising flavours such as nettle, garden herbs and mustard. World of Cheese showcases the global cheese sorts produced by Kaptein, and is one of our export brands. The World of Cheese selection comprises of Mimolette, Mozzarella, Emmentaler, and white and red Cheddar. These cheese varieties are available in a wide choice of packaging formats. Cheese Holland is Kaptein’s other export brand and consists of, as the name suggests, typical Dutch cheeses. Cheese Holland is available in Edam, Gouda and Maasdam, again in a wide range of packaging formats. Parmerender is a 100% natural grated dried cheese with a distinctive full-bodied and punchy cheese flavour. Parmerender is available in 1 kg high-quality packs. Private label
We are also well-known for the cheeses we pack under private label. We constantly monitor all trends and developments in the market and our flexibility enables us to translate every demand into an effective and successful packaging concept. All this is of course carried out according to the exact customer requirements.
